Pine Tar Soap
Recipe Instructions
Use full coconut milk replacement in place of water to dissolve lye. Freeze coconut milk before dissolving lye.
Citric Acid (@2%) - Dissolve in coconut milk BEFORE freezing.
Add additional lye to neutralized citric acid.
Sodium Lactate (@2%) - Dissolve in lye milk solution AFTER it has cooled to below 100 degrees.
Fragrance (@4%) - Barn Wood from Aztec. Add to warm oils BEFORE adding lye milk solution. Blend well.
Pine Tar must be added to oils once melted & still warm before adding lye milk solution. This technique helps the soap batter stay fluid longer. No immersion blender is needed to make pine tar soap. Using a spatula to move the batter around is enough to allow the batter to come to trace. It may take a bit of time, but patience will be rewarded. Pour the batter once a light trace is obtained.
