Needed Ingredients

Water + Lye

564.13 g Water

61.33 g NaOH

220.73 g KOH

Oils

1,000 g Coconut Oil, Virgin

Additives + Additional Ingredients

40 gram sodium lactate (add to warm oil)

25 gram Brown sugar (add to warm oil)

25 gram citric acid (final stage)

45 gram distilled water for citric acid solution (final stage)

3.50 gram grapefruit seed extract (optional)

Recipe Instructions

  1. blend lye with oil and sodium lactate and sugar until thickened
  2. leave on low heat for 10 minutes covered, mix and repeat until it become hard and transparent
  3. 3.5l of water for one 1 litre of oil - take off the heat
  4. once melted add the citric acid solution to reach ph 9
  5. lastly add the grapefruit extract
